Below you will find the 800m times from 2013 scored like an XC race with only 4 scorers from each team.  This is not exact science here, but it gives a very good idea of what to look out for in the 4x800m Relay this spring.  The scoring part of the far side does not help as much as the Total Time line in the middle.

The Ryle Invitational probably has the most depth out of all the meets being held in Kentucky this weekend.  Pretty much all of the best teams and runners in northern Kentucky will be there.  Last year, the meet was cancelled due to excessive heat before the Varsity races began and this year rain could be a problem.  Hopefully it goes off because it should be a good one.

In an effort to honor the top track and field performers from Kentucky, will have a weekly set of Athletes of the Week.  There will be Middle School, High School, and College awardees.  Former Kentucky High School Track and Field athletes currently running in college are eligible for the College award, even if he or she attends a school out-of-state.  This week, honors Athletes of the Week for each High School Class since the competition Saturday at the Mason-Dixon Games was broken up into classes.

Justin Haire is a senior at Class Pre-Season #1 Bishop Brossart in Alexandria.  He finished 13th at the 2007 Class A Kentucky State Cross Country Meet helping lead Brossart to a third place team finish.

Interview with Troy Cooper after the Class A State Track Meet on Saturday at Paul Dunbar High School. He won two state titles in the Shot Put and Discus. He had personal best throws of 58-05.50 in the Shot Put and 166-03 in the Discus. Cooper will be competing for the University of Cincinnati next year.
