Bluegrass Conference MS Championships / Elementary Derby 2024

Scratch/Add Deadline - 10:00 PM on Thursday

You will have until 10:00 PM on Thursday to send me any changes/substitutions/additions. Once we pass the scratch/add deadline I will go ahead and seed the meet. I will send Start Lists out that will show Section and Lane Assignments and those Start Lists will also populate on Milesplit Live Results.

Bluegrass Conference - Entries are limited to 2 athletes per event and one relay (per gender).

Elementary Derby - Races will also be seeded. Entries are unlimited but there is the restriction to two relays max (one 4-5 and one K-3). If you don't have enough for 2 relays that is ok, and grade levels CAN be mixed (you can have two 4th graders and two 3rd graders on the same relay). Only your Top relay can score points and/or earn awards.

Day of the Meet Procedures

On the day of the meet all track events will be seeded.

Bluegrass Conference - If you need to make a substitution you can. For example, Johnny can check in for Michael but Johnny will run in Michael's assigned Section/Lane. There will be NO additions on the day of the meet, so please make sure you get any additions to me before the Scratch/Add Deadline tomorrow. Some races may have an empty lane if an athlete scratches. We will do everything possible to prevent an athlete running on their own.

Elementary Derby - No subs on meet day (everyone who could race should already be entered).The races will be seeded and we will run them as printed on the clerk sheets. If an athlete scratches we may move another athlete from a different section, but at the Clerk's discretion. 

Track Events

• All track events will go in the following order throughout the day:
  • Bluegrass Conference Girls -> Bluegrass Conference Boys
  • 4/5 Girls -> 4/5 Boys
  • K-3 Girls -> K-3 Boys
• Distance Events (1600 / 800 / 3200) 
  • Bluegrass Conference Girls -> Bluegrass Conference Boys
  • Elementary 1600's and 800's MAY be combined. If we do the format will go:
    • 4/5 Girls and Boys
    • K-3 Girls and Boys
  • The 3200 is for Bluegrass Conference ONLY. We may run combined if the numbers are lower (currently there are 16 total entered).

Field Events

• Field Events Schedule
  • Bluegrass Conference Field Events
    • 10:00 Start
      • Triple Jump - Boys and Girls Combined. Open Pit from 10:00 - 11:00. There are only 17 entered. Triple Jump pit is closest to the 100m starting line and the High Jump.
      • Long Jump - Boys followed by Girls. The Long Jump runway is near the 200m starting lines.
      • High Jump - Girls followed by Boys. High Jump is located near the 100m starting line.
      • Pole Vault - Boys and Girls combined (5 entered). Vault is located behind the 100m starting line.
      • Shot Put - Girls followed by Boys. Located behind the stadium near the softball field.
      • Discus - Boys followed by Girls. Located behind the stadium near the softball field.
      • Jav - will begin once Discus and Shot End. 
  • Elementary Derby Field Events - Starting Times will vary:
    • Turbo Jav - 10:00 Start Time. On the football field in the End Zone near the 300m starting line.
      • All 4-5 Boys and Girls followed by all K-3 Boys/Girls
      • Long Jump will be on the Triple Jump runway once Triple Jump ends. Approximately 11:00 - 11:15.
      • All K-3 Boys/Girls followed by all 4-5 Boys/Girls
        
        
      • Shot Put will begin once Bluegrass Conference shot ends. Anticipated start time is 12:30. 
      • All K-3 Boys/Girls followed by all 4-5 Boys/Girls.

Field Event Assignments

• All Teams will be assigned to help at a field event. This can be coaches and/or trained parents. It is good to have 3-4 people at every field event. Some events will have 2 schools listed (I split Elkhorn and Bourbon). 
  • High Jump - Harrison County (2 workers)
  • Pole Vault - Woodford County (2 workers). There are only 5 entered in PV. 
  • Turbo Jav - Paris / Elkhorn / Bourbon County
  • Discus - Royal Spring / Elkhorn (3-4 workers total)
  • Shot Put - Georgetown (3 workers)
  • Long Jump - Scott County / Bourbon County (4 workers total)
  • Triple Jump - Covered by Meet Management, which will then run the Elementary LJ.
  • Exchange Zones + Hurdles - Campbell Middle
  • We are asking that each Elementary Team supply a few trained parents to help out at the elementary field events, primarily for crowd control and supervision (for safety). It can be one of your event coaches.

There is not a fee for Bluegrass Conference Teams. However, if your team is also entered into Elementary Divisions there is a $75 fee per gender team ($150 max). Entry fees for Elementary Teams or Unattached Athletes can be paid the day of the meet and should be payable to:
