5-Way Border Battle 2024

Danville, KY
Hosted by Collins
Timing/Results Leslie Smith Timing

Meet Information

This will be the first non-invitational type track and field meet on a 200 meter track in Kentucky high school history.  It will also be the first  5-Way Border Battle indoor track and field meet in Kentucky high school history.  This 5-Way Border Battle will feature Team Shelby (Collins and Shelby Co.), Team Oldham (North and South), Team Fayette (Lafayette and Tates Creek), Team Bluegrass (Great Crossing and Bourbon Co.), and Team Central KY (Lincoln Co. and Boyle Co.).  It will also be the first high school meet held on Centre College's new 200 meter indoor track!

One of our objectives at Martha Layne Collins High School is to put the Oomph! back into Track & Field.  So, for the first time we will host an early season indoor Border Battle.  We are separating the field events from the running events.  This will make it better for the athletes, coaches, and spectators by allowing them to focus more with less going on.   We will have a mix of traditional high school indoor distances (e.g., 1500 & 3000) as well as some purely indoor event distances (i.e., 600 and 1000).  In 2025, we might even add the weight throw.

This meet will be the KYMileSplit LiveStream Meet of the Week!
