Meet Information

Collins H. S. will be again host the Border Battle which will be the4thinter-school district rivalry in Kentucky state history. The meet will feature Team Shelby with Collins and Shelby County teaming up to battle Team Oldhamwith North Oldham and South Oldham. The meet will be run on the Bullskin Cross Country Complex off of US 60. Note - there is no meet entry fee.

Race Schedule:

Girls Varsity 5K 5:30 PM

Boys Varsity 5K 6:15 PM

Concessions: There is water on site, but athletes should bring their own water.

Restrooms: Porta potties will be available, but athletes should come dressed and ready to race. Hand sanitizer will be in the porta potties.

Admission: All spectators must purchase a ticket online in advance. Tickets are $6 per person and children 10 and under are free. Click on Border Battle XC 2021 Tickets to purchase tickets.

COVID Procedures:All spectators and athletes should be free of any COVID symptoms.All spectators must remain at least ten feet away from all athletes at all times. The meet is being held at a farm so there is plenty of room to spread out. Please do not cross the course and stay out of the soybeans and / or high grass.Water will not be provided, so please bring your own. There is a hydrant on site if you want to fill up a jug.

Awards: The traditional Border Battle Pumpkins will be given to both the boys' and girls' individual champions.

Directions: The Blue Meadow Farms - Bullskin Cross Country Complex is located at approximately 99 Joyes Station Rd., Shelbyville, KY 40065 (map quest may take you further down Joyes Station Rd. - just remember to take a right on the farm road (at the Blue Meadow Farms / Bullskin Cross Country Complexsign). Joyes Station Rd. is just off of US 60 between Shelbyville and Simpsonville and is approximately one mile west of Collins H.S. Be careful of using GPS. It can put you on the other end of Joyes Station Rd approximately 14 minute (drive) from the course location. Just remember that the course is right on US 60 between Shelbyville and Simpsonville. Please follow the above directions.

If coming from the West (i.e., heading East), take I-64 E and exit on Veechdale (Hwy 1848, aka Buck Creek Rd.) Rd. (exit 28). At the end of the exit, take a left onto Hwy 1848 (Buck Creek Rd. aka Veechdale Rd.). Go approximately one mile to the end of 1848 and Turn R on to US 60 going East to Shelbyville. Go approximately 3 miles on US 60 (cross Bullskin Creek!) then turn right on Joyes Station Rd. Take the first farm road on the Right (at the Blue Meadow Farms sign). Go to the end of the farm road.
