Water is available, but have runners bring their own bottles and a volunteer can fill the bottle from a water cooler.
We will need to stick to the time schedule in order to be out of the park in time for scheduled soccer games on the soccer fields Saturday night. This means that we may be starting the next race while runners are still on the course. Please communicate this to your runners and parents. The officials will communicate this to runners on the start line, but kids often are not the best listeners at the start line. They're nervous.
AWARDS:
To avoid crowding around the awards table and promote social distancing, there won't be scheduled handing out of awards. Send a coach to collect any awards. The top 2 teams get trophies and top 10 individuals get medals in every race. I will arrange delivery of any awards not picked up at the meet, but it's always faster and easier for everyone involved to grab it at the race.
Bluegrass Cross Country Invitational is back for 2021!
Course Info:
The course is faster and more spectator-friendly than other layouts at Masterson Station Park. The finish is by the soccer fields to provide a natural amphitheater with tent city on the hill between the finish and parking. The runners will begin in the start field before heading down through the soccer area before a climb up the main hill in the park. After completing the hill loop, they will finish in the soccer field area. If a spectator stayed by the soccer fields, they could see the runners for 2 miles of the 5k race. It is an excellent spectator course.
