This event brings together, on one night and at one venue, the year's 16 best racers from across A, AA, and AAA athletes. We hope the time of year allows student-athletes to key on this night's performance, and we've seen some epic battles and times in this event's great history.
Spectators are encouraged to come enjoy the show, and we hope that the top competitors will be able to join us under the lights for a great race!
Each Monday, we will provide updates of the state's top performances in the 1600 and Mile to the listserv, and request that coaches confirm, as soon as possible, their athletes' interest and availability to race on April 30, here in Louisville.
Boys: 1600 meters - 4:23 or Mile: 4:25
Girls: 1600 meters - 5:13 or Mile: 5:15
All reported times must be run during the current KHSAA track season and verified on Milesplit. Any time that cannot be verified will be disallowed.
If you have a verified time that is within 5 seconds of the standard, or a time previous to the qualifying window that falls within the standard, and would like to be put on a provisional status list, you are welcome to submit an entry. The games committee also reserves the right to add any at-large participants they feel will be competitive.
There is no entry fee for participants
We will fill the fields with a maximum of 16 runners per race. We will also seed alternates for each race in the event that someone needs to drop out.
We will be updating and contacting entries starting on Friday, April 2nd, 2021, running through Saturday, April 24, 2021. We will announce the fields for the races on Monday, April 26, 2021.
ALL runners must be entered. Don't assume that meeting the standard or being on the list confirms your entry to the Kentucky Dream Mile. A coach, not parents of athletes, MUST submit all entries, as this event will count against your team(s) meet total. Enter only via entry forms to be posted Friday, April 2nd, through Coach Kyle Yochum.
Any questions should be sent to Coach Yochum - firstname.lastname@example.org
