Meet Information
Archives Wednesday Meets for those in Franklin County only.
We will be hosting middle school and elementary races at the State Library and Archives Sept 9, 16, 23, 30, October 7. The meets are for athletes in schools in Franklin County only.
The meet will be set up in team waves with 13 runners in each wave. To avoid contact with others, waves will be made up of runners on the same team unless the team has few runners, in which case they will run with others on other teams. Due to COVID-19 restrictions we ask that you tell parents to not arrive until 30 minutes before their race. Once their race is over, please ask the parents and athletes to leave.
Masks must be worn by everyone while on site. Runners must wear mask until they go to the starting line and then they can remove the mask. Do not put in on the ground. Athletes can wrap it around their wrist, around their neck, put it in their waistband or pin it to their uniform. When they cross the finish line, they need to put their mask back on and leave with their parents. Parents are to stay back ten fee from the course so as not to spread droplets on runners.
Athletes will wear bibs with chips. Your team packet will be on a table by the finish line trailer. It will contain bibs and pins and a list of the athletes and the waves they are in. I will send out the wave list Wednesday morning. Do not write numbers on the hand. After the race, collect the bibs, put them back in the packet and return to the table at the finish line. You will be charged ten dollars for any bibs not returned. Athletes numbers will change each week. There will not be separate races. There will be one continuous race for two hours. Boys and girls will run together.

The State Library and Archives is the site of the Vietnam War Memorial to Kentucky soldiers who died in Vietnam. We ask your athletes and fans to respect that memorial as well as keeping them out of the State Library and Archives. That is one condition for our continued use of the facility. Porta-toilets will be located to the rear of the Archives behind the hill.
Please note that we have a new agreement with the Kentucky Division of State Properties concerning parking. In order to make things safer as well as accommodating visitors to the Vietnam Memorial, there is no parking allowed in the Memorial parking lot. Cars and busses will be parked in behind the Archives. Overflow will be in the fields along Coffeetree Road. NOTE NOT RIGHT ALONG THE ROAD. Please inform parents we will have parking in a large field on the left as they come up Coffeetree Road. In the past many have parked along the road and as a result, late comers saw the cars on the side and they decided to park out on Route 676 when there was plenty of room in our parking areas. We will send out maps detailing parking as the event nears.
Directions: I-64 from the east, take Exit 58 Route 60, turn right toward Frankfort, go 1 mile, turn left on Route 676. Follow signs to the Vietnam Memorial.
I-64 from the west, Exit 53B Route 127 toward Frankfort, Go one mile, turn right on Route 676, follow signs to Vietnam Memorial.
