GRAVISS MCDONALDS 34th ANNUAL CAPITOL VIEW CLASSIC
THE INFAMOUS "ARCHIVES"

Dear Coach:
Frankfort High/Middle School is proud to extend you an invitation to GRAVISS MCDONALDS 34th Annual Capitol View Classic Cross Country Meet at the infamous Archives course in Frankfort, Saturday, September 30. We try to run the best meet in the state with plenty of awards, an efficient finish chute and rapid posting of results. Join us on Kentucky's most challenging course. The competition will be tough. The elementary and middle school races have grown to be the one of the biggest statewide races in those age groups.
We have added an open race-the Anniversary Mile Repeat- at 9:30 for those interested. Proceeds from this race will go to benefit the United Way of Franklin County.

P.S. The State Library and Archives is the site of the Vietnam War Memorial to Kentucky soldiers who died in Vietnam. We ask your athletes and fans to respect that memorial as well as keeping them out of the State Library and Archives. That is one condition for our continued use of the facility. We will have a four-color process T-shirts for sale as well as concessions. Porta-toilets will be located to the rear of the Archives this year.
Please note that we have a new agreement with the Kentucky Division of State Properties concerning parking. In order to make things safer as well as accommodating visitors to the Vietnam Memorial, there is no parking allowed in the Memorial parking lot. Cars and busses will be parked in behind the Archives. Overflow will be in the fields along Coffeetree Road. NOTE NOT RIGHT ALONG THE ROAD. Please inform parents we will have parking in a large field on the left as they come up Coffeetree Road. In the past many have parked along the road and as a result latecomers saw the cars on the side and they decided to park out on Route 676 when there was plenty of room in our parking areas. We will send out maps detailing parking as the event nears.
Directions: I-64 from the east, take Exit 58 Route 60, turn right toward Frankfort, go 1 mile, turn left on Route 676. Follow signs to the Vietnam Memorial.
I-64 from the west, Exit 53B Route 127 toward Frankfort, Go one mile, turn right on Route 676, follow signs to Vietnam Memorial.
We will also be hosting middle/elementary school & high school races at 5:30 PM Wednesdays, Aug. 23, Aug. 30, Sept 6, Sept. 13, Sept 20, Sept 27. 8th & Under Girls will run at 5:30, 8th & Under boys at 5:40, 4th & Under girls at 5:50, 4th & Under boys at 6:10, High school girls & boys at 6:20 (On Aug 23, Aug. 30, and Sept 6 we will run 3000 for the high school race) You are invited to those. Email me your roster on Hytek Team Manager or Team Manager Lite at least two days in advance of the meet so I can assign numbers.

NOTE: ELEMENTARY RACES ARE SIXTH (6TH) GRADE AND LOWER.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ARE EIGHTH (8TH) GRADE) AND LOWER.
NO ONE MAY RUN IN MORE THAN ONE DIVISION. IF A TEAM HAS A RUNNER COMPETE MORE THAN ONCE, THAT ENTIRE TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
DUE TO ILLNESSES, ABSENCES, ETC, YOU MAY CHANGE RUNNERS BETWEEN DIVISIONS ON THE DAY OF THE RACE IF YOU NEED TO. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CALL IN THESE CHANGES. HOWEVER, WE WILL HAVE THE RACE ON COMPUTER IN WHICH CASE I WILL NEED ALL NAMES AHEAD OF TIME.
AT THE STARTING LINE, TEAMS WILL LINE UP SINGLE FILE. PLEASE INFORM YOUR ATHLETES SO THEY ARE READY TO FOLLOW THIS FORMAT.
NO LIMIT IN ALL RACES.
