Meet Information
Harlan County High School proudly extends an invitation to attend the Black Bear Invitational/Area 9 Championships. The course is located on the campus of beautiful Harlan County High School.
We hope you will add us to your schedule this season. We look forward to hosting you, promise great awards, a challenging course, and spirited competition.
The entry deadline is September 27, and entries may be done online via MileSplit:

11:00 am B/G JV 5000m Unlimited 25$ team
11:45 am G Varsity 5000m 7 55$ team
12:20 pm B Varsity 5000m 7 55$ team
Awards:
Elementary: Medals for 1 -- 20 (boys and girls)
Middle School: Medals for 1 -- 20 (boys and girls)
Boys/Girls Reserve Medals for 1 -- 20 (boys and girls)
Varsity: Medals for 1 -- 25
Medals to be given out in the chute, team awards will follow the conclusion of the meet.
Area 9 medals and team awards (for Area 9 schools) will be given out at the close of the meet. Medals will be put in envelopes for each team for the elementary/middle/JV/Varsitytop 10 medalists will be recognized as All Area 9 Team at that time.
Medals are customized (as they have been in previous years) so we are limited to the
number listed for each event only
Team Trophies:
1st and 2nd place Varsity teams
Conveniences:
Concessions will be available at the race. Both food and drinks will be sold. Indoor restrooms are available. All proceeds support HCHS Cross Country.
Parking:
Vehicles will be directed to park at the race site. All spectators will enter through the lower entrance (baseball field entrance) as the course runs by the main entrance. There will be a 3.00 entry fee for spectators. Buses should enter through the lower entrance at the HCHS campus (baseball field gate) for unloading/loading of athletes.
