LEXINGTON, Ky. – Not many track and field meets claim to be the "best meet in the country." Fewer still achieve the near-universal acceptance as just that, but on Thursday such recognition was bestowed to this weekend's Rod McCravy Memorial Meet from many of the nation's most widely consumed track and field-specific media outlets.
The McCravy Memorial was billed as the nation's strongest regular-season meet this year, and Friday's action didn't disappoint.
LEXINGTON, Ky. The numbers don't lie. The 2015 Rod McCravy Memorial Track and Field Meet was billed as the best regular-season meet of the year in the lead-up, and the performances that went down inside Nutter Field House the past two days substantiated the initial hype.
BATON ROUGE � After opening the season by smashing LSU's indoor school record in the shot put at the LSU Invitational on Jan. 9, Lady Tiger senior Tori Bliss eclipsed her own mark and extended her NCAA lead in the event with a winning throw of 57 feet, 4 � inches to lead the LSU Track & Field teams in Saturday's finale at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet.
