With region right around the corner, this Saturday will be a good opportunity for teams to gain a little momentum and make some last minute preparations. There are several athletes that have a legitimate shot to make it to the State Championships and this meet will give them a chance to see how they stack up against some of Southern Kentucky’s best runners. The season is winding down but the competition is heating up.
The DeSales Invitational has been host to many great runners over recent years.
Mercer County hosted its second meet of the week in order to give teams a chance to run on the course that will host the regional championship. Teams from Regions 7A, 7AA, and 7AAA were present this morning and they all hoped to not only gain some valuable experience but to also post some fast times on a challenging course.
The 42nd Annual Pulaski County Invitational should once again live up to its nickname of “The Fall Classic.”
This morning in London there were several runners who ran their best time of the season, which does not happen very often at North Laurel. “The Jungle” has never been known to have the easiest course but circumstances were a little different today. Due to construction on the school’s tennis courts, the course had to be altered which ultimately made for a faster and more exciting race than in the past.
The 2014 North Laurel Invitational will not be the same race as years past. This year’s course is going to be different from previous seasons due to construction on the school’s tennis courts. Despite the alterations, this should still be a very challenging and exciting event.

There is one word that describes the course at the Hillbilly Run, and that word is “fast.” This course is a runner’s dream, if there ever was an opportunity to get a PR then this Saturday is that opportunity.

It may be very early in this cross country season, but this year’s Franklin County Invitational holds a lot of significance. For many teams, this is a chance to gain valuable experience on the course which hosts the State Championship.
The temperatures may have been cool but the competition today in Danville today was anything but. Some of Southern Kentucky’s better teams were on display this morning at the EG Plummer Invitational.
