PA athletes did well in the qualifiers for the Semi-Finals of the annual Colgate Women\'s Games, which culminate February 5th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Latavia Thomas wins Intermediate Girls\' 800. Saqenda Dallas, who attends Girls\' High in Philadelphia, won the Intermediate Girls\' Triple Jump. Avondale\'s Michael Hall had a 205 point lead heading into the final event of the Young Men\'s Decathlon, the 1500. He used 185 of those and held on to win. Mount Airy TC Intermediate Girls won the national title in the 4x800. David Dareem of Glenside, captured the Youth Boys\' 100. Mt. Airy took the Youth Boys 4x400. Ryann Krais, Eagleville (Methacton), is the Youth Girls\' 400 champ. Khaliff Featherston of Philadelphia, wins the Intermediate Boys\' 400. In the Youth Girls relay finals, Mount Airy won the 4x100.

As you'd expect of these three talented athletes, all members of the Mt. Airy TC, they travelled to North Carolina and showed well in the Intermediate Girls' division at the age group meet. Clarenchell Tate took the 100 in 11.84, and captured 3rd in the Long Jump with a leap of 17-07. Saquenda Dallas won the 200 in 25.59. She also finished 2nd in the Triple Jump, going 36-09.75. And Jaleeca Jacobs won both the 1500 (4:59.49) and the 3000 (10:56.65). In the Youth Boys, Mt. Airy's Shawn David won the 400 in 51.47 and took 3rd in the 200 in 23.04, along with a 4th in the Long Jump (18-01.)

Running for the River City Elite, Charelise Davis took the Intermediate Girls 100 in 12.20. Second was Clarenceshell Tate in 12.22, running for the Mt. Airy TC. And Uniontown\'s Breehana Jacobs, running unattached, was 3rd in 12.39. All ran into a -0.9 headwind. Davis was also 3rd in the 200, going 24.84. In other IG action, Natalie Clickett, a Union City sophomore, captured 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 131-09 on her last throw of the prelims. McDowell frosh, Alexandra Acker, who lives in NY, was 2nd in the Pole Vault, clearing 10-04. Mt. Airy TC\'s Jaleeca Jacobs ran 10:39.10 to take 2nd in the IG 3000. In the 200, Charelise Davis of River City Elite TC took 3rd in 24.84; while in the 400 Hurdles, Brianna Broyles of the Mt. Airy TC was 3rd in 1:03.68. The Mt. Airy IG 4x100 took 2nd in 48.46. In Intermediate Boys competition, Travon Rainford of Mt. Airy TC, was 2nd in the 3000 in 9:06.92. Two Philly clubs went 2-3 in the boys 4x800, with PhatBack Athletics getting 2nd in 8:10.16, and Morris Estate taking 3rd in 8:24.87. YouthIn the Youth Girls action, Ambler\'s Taylor Bumpus went 2:18.32 to get 2nd in the 800. In Youth Boys action, Mt. Airy\'s Shawn David, went 20-00.25 to take 2nd in the Long Jump. Mt. Airy\'s Dareem David took a 3rd in the Boys\' 400 in 51.24 and a 4th in the 100 in 11.64. Mt. Airy took 2nd in the 4x400 in 3:40.59. Young Women/Young MenIn the Young Women\'s 800, Shadae Downer took 2nd in 2:14.81. In the Young Men\'s Pole Vault, Brian Dodds cleared 14-09 to take 2nd.

Clarenchell Tate continued her trek toward nationals, taking two Intermediate Girls events, the 100 in 11.93 and the Long Jump in a very strong 18-00.50. Kenneth Talley, Simon Gratz, took the Young Men's 200 in 22.32.

Here are the numbers: 11.90, 23.79 (US#3), 54.93 (US#10). Here\'s the person responsible for those gaudy stats: Krista Simkins. The Wissahickon junior cruised at high speed through the hyper-speed meet (just over two hours for track events) and set a meet record in the 100, 200 and 400. Hometown Chanel Williams ran a blistering 44.31 300 Hurdles. For the boys, Andrew Fries of McDevitt uncorked a 190-07 Javelin, a meet record. What a meet for Krista Simkins and Wissahickon. Simkins posted a 24.69 200 (a new meet record), offered a 24.1 come-from-behind split to win the 4x200 in 1:45.61, and contributed to the 4:02.62 4x400 win. Angela Wells of Simon Gratz unleashed the US#2 Long Jump, a 19-05.50, and a new meet record. Harrisburg\'s Brianna Flagg took the top spot in PA with a Shot Put of 43-04. Mike Wray of Central posted a US#6 8.03 60 Hurdles (new meet record) after an 8.11 in the trials. Bensalem\'s LaMonte Louis also had a great day, going 50.13 in the 400 and anchoring the 4x200 to a 1:32.46 win. In other action, Brianna Flagg of Harrisburg had a battle with Coatesville Junior Tayvon Gray in the Shot Put, with both over 40\'. Flagg has a new PA #1 and US#3 at 43-4, while Gray threw 40-05.50. Jannea Bridgeford, Upper Darby, took over US#4 in the 60 Dash at 7.61, a new meet record. Wilson\'s Shawn Smith set a meet record in the Long Jump, going 22-6. And Central Dauphin\'s Ryan Whiting set a meet record in the Shot Put, with a throw of 60-1. And the boys 800 had four guys within a second, with Central\'s Mike Syrnick going 1:59.23, holding off Matt Gould, Hatboro Horsham (1:59.43), Eric Bowles, Upper Dublin, 3rd in 1:59.73, and North Penn\'s Haibo Lu, 4th in 1:59.87.

Valley\'s Mycaiah Clemons won her 5th straight 55 Hurdles, this one in the Semi-Finals with an 8.41. Middle School champs included Clarenchell Tate of the Imani School in Philadelphia, winning the 55 Dash in 7.24 seconds; and Jonae McAllister of GAMP, taking the 400 in 59.61 seconds. Other elite performances came from Kameesha Worthinging, 3rd in the HS 800 in 2:19.21; Jaleeca Jacobs, 5th in 2:20.500, and Lavaughn Jones, 2nd in the HS 1500 in 4:53.76. In the MS races, Alex Brasington was 3rd in the 1500 in 4:49.76, and Anya Curtis, a 6th grader, was 4th in 4:53.49.

In the third week of high school competition at the Colgate Women\'s Games, Kameesha Worthington, an Enginnering & Science sophomore in Philadelphia, won the 800 in 2:17.3. Mycaiah Clemons of Penn Trafford HS was 3rd in the 55 Hurdles in 8.3. Lavaughn Jones, Engineering & Science, and Jaleeca Jacobs, Bodine HS, ran well in the 1500, going 4:49.8 and 4:50.7, respectively. In Middle School competition, Clarenchell Tate of the Imani School, posted a 6.9 win in the 55 dash, and Upper Dublin\'s Alex Brasington went 4:50 for 3rd in the 1500.
