Assumption/St. Xavier Win Nike Cross Nationals & Thomson Qualifies for Foot Locker Nationals
Assumption won Nike Cross Nationals Southeast 92-93 over Tatnall from Delaware. Bailey Davis led the ladies with a 6th place finish in 17:44.8. Katherine Receveur was 10th with a 17:52. The biggest finisher of the day was Kate Crawford in 34th. Crawford, the typical #5 for Assumption ran a smoking 18:38 to pull off a 14 second PR as Assumption's 4th runner on the day.
St. Xavier's won big 87-139 over Blacksburg. Connor Sheryak led the Tigers with a 6th place finish in 15:24 with Sam Lewis finishing 9th with a 15:33. Chris Striegel came up big to finish 17th overall with a 15:40. The 1-4 pack was tight as usual with a 26 second gap.
Bowling Green's girls were 9th overall led by Madyson Peeples 16th place finish with a 18:06.
Jacob Thomson (Holy Cross) came back from an early race fall to finish 4th overall at Foot Locker South. He ran a 14:58 to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals for the 2nd race ever.
Butler's Patrick Gregory was 16th overall with a 15:17, while AAA State Champ Chase Geary was 24th with a 15:25. Maggie Allen (Sacred Heart) was 25th overall to be Kentucky's top finisher with an 18:04. Cassidy Hale was 30th with an 18:08, Amelia Reynolds was 46th with an 18:33, and Samantha Simms was 50th with a 18:38.
