Holy Cross Junior Jacob Thomson finished as the National Runner-Up in the 5000 Meter Run tonight at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina. He ran a new best time of 14:34.78 to earn All-American honors. This past week he was named the KYtrackXC.com Distance Runner of the Year and Mr. Track for the State of Kentucky by the KTCCCA. He won three Kentucky State titles at the Class A State Track Meet in the 1600m, 800, and 3200m. His winning time of 4:10.80 broke the previous Kentucky State Record.

Eastern's Kyle Covert ran a new best time of 15:35.84 to finish 29th, while Butler sophomore Patrick Gregory was 33rd with a 16:05.
Earlier in the day Bryan Station frosh Bolaji Ogbulu finished 3rd overall in the Freshman 400 Meter Dash with a 50.06.
