 With the high school regionals just a week away, it’s time for the young ones to take center stage. This year’s version of the KTCCCA Elementary and Middle School State Cross Country Championships will feature some changes with regards to the course and with regards to the meet set-up as well. Both will likely change the way the meet plays out, but one definitely more than the other. Let’s take a look at the changes in the meet set-up first.

 

For starters, the normal morning time schedule that had stood pat for several years has changed significantly with high school grade races ruling the morning.  Last year, with wet conditions, the course was torn up after the morning session, slowing the afternoon session considerably, so we’ll have to see if it holds up this time around.  Beyond that, there has been an addition to the younger races, as the addition of a 4th-Grade and Under race will change the layout of the 6th and Under race.  These changes make it hard to project the Element...
