This week for our Future Stars we are highlighting the top middle school runners since we will be crowning state champions soon at the KTCCCA Meet of Champions on October 18. Let's highlight a couple of them in our Future Stars series.
The Gray Middle School duo of Audrey Buschmann and Sadie Chalfant are leading the way for their squad and in the rankings. They are currently ranked #2 and #3 in the 4K for middle school girls with their marks at the KTCCCA Area 5 Middle School/Elementary Cross Country Region. Both have set PRs this season in the 3K, 3200m, and 4K to bolster the squad poised to be the next generation of runners at Ryle when they move to high school.
Addisyn Potts had herself a great week last week as the middle school champion for the Haunted Woods Classic. The eighth grader from St. Edward improved her PR by 2 seconds from her previous best at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational a month earlier. She was the champion for both of those high profile meets. Her 14:55.27 this past week continues her decrease in times progression over the past year (spoiler...you can check your progression too on your athlete profile and by clicking the "Progression" tab). She might add State Champion to her list of accolades this weekend.
