Several Kentucky schools ventured north into Ohio for an early season showdown at Saturday Night Lights in Centerville. Covington Catholic's boys left as the team victors scoring 82 points to beat Beavercreek by 4 points.
The girls race started out the night with Lexington Catholic's Abigail Turner finishing 4th overall with a 18:25. North Oldham's top duo of Elle Cargould and Millie Huang then came across the line in 7th and 9th running 18:39 and 18:43. Lexington Catholic's Anna Dawahare finished 12th with a 18:51 to have the schools tied after two runners. Lex Cath was the better in the end scoring 193 to finish 8th with North Oldham finishing 9th with a 208. Notre Dame, Eastern, and Campbell County came in 12th, 13th, and 16th as teams.
Covington Catholic showed off their early season packing skills with five runners finishing in between 21st and 29th. Luke McLane was their individual leader with a 4th finish running 15:48. Then they rolled with Braden Franxman (21st), Jack Salyers (23rd), Asher Edmondson (24th), John Nerswick (26th), and Joel Barczak (29th.)
