KY Girls Performance of the Week (9/30 - 10/5)
After a slow week in KY cross country with the horrendous weather, we finally had a week where there was nothing short of AMAZING performances. We had athletes kill it in North Carolina as well as several awesome performances in the state. With that, it is time to get into the nominations.
The first nominee is Lucy Spaw of Daviess County. Spaw was victorious at the Daviess County Classic with a time of 19:18. She dominated the field, winning by 25 seconds.
The second nominee is Morgan Kobylinski of Ohio County. The senior won one of the premier meets in Kentuckiana at the Louisville XC Classic defeating second place by 5 seconds. Kobylinski continues to build an impressive resume going into the State Championships in just a month.
The third nominee is Sami Govey of Boyd County. Govey won the Eastern Kentucky Conference meet on Thursday in a time of 20:24.
The fourth and final nominee is Caroline Beiting of Lexington Catholic. The Senior placed 18th at the Great American XC Festival in North Carolina, running the third fastest time in the state this season in 17:58. She was the second fastest KY finisher in the race.
Also, shoutout to Shelby Lamb who ran the second fastest time in the State this season in 17:57 at the Great American XC Festival which is just 0.07 seconds off the mark Kobylinski set two weeks ago.
