KY Girls Performance of the Week (9/23 - 9/29)

KY Girls Performance of the Week (9/23 - 9/29)

On a rainy weekend in Kentuckiana, our athletes braved the awful weather and delivered fantastic races. We also had some marquee weekday races to fill the week with excellent results. From Tuesday's CKC Championships to Saturday's Hillbilly Run, here are the top performances from around the state.

Starting with the girls, our first nominee is Marleigh Estes from Bourbon County. The junior ran 19:52 winning the CKC Championships and leading Bourbon County to the team title there as well. This was Estes's first win this season as we look ahead to the Live in Lou Classic Saturday.

The second nominee is Baili Hoten of Thomas Nelson. Hoten won the Hillbilly Run Saturday with a time of 19:21, winning by 30 seconds. GIven the conditions on the day (cold, rainy, and windy) this was one of the best performances this season.

The third nominee is Mabel George of Assumption. George and the rest of the Assumption ladies ran at the Palatine Invite in Illinois Saturday and ran very well. George led the Rockets with a 17:43 (3 mile time, approx. 18:23 5k) and a 10th place finish.

The fourth and final nominee is Olivia Holbrook of Campbell County. The senior braved the elements at the Run for the Water Barrel winning by a minute and running 19:50.
