KY Girls Performer of the week (9/9 - 9/14)
This is the second edition of milesplit runner of the week. Congratulations to Shelby Lamb and Charley Townsend for winning last week. With that said, it is important to note that you CANNOT win twice unless you break a State Record. The nominations reset after the regular season is over meaning that State Performances will be counted for all runners.
With that said, let's get into what happened in KY cross country. We saw Kentucky athletes go across the Nation this week with athletes competing in Ohio, Alabama, Indiana, and many more. This all led to some pretty incredible performances across Kentucky so without further adieu, here are the nominations for KY runner of the week:
The first nominee is Dupont Manual's Bailee Montgomery. Montgomery took her talents to Indiana this week where she competed at the Eagle Classic. She placed 4th at this meet running 18:23 which is the fastest time in Class 3A this season.
The second nominee is Larue County's Isabella Day. Day was on this list last week for her brilliant win at the Storm Invitational. She kept that momentum going with a win this Saturday at the Barton Marlow - CHHS Fairgrounds Frenzy running 18:23 and winning handedly.
The third nominee is Allison Kopser of Ryle. Kopser barely missed making this list last week, but made sure she got her place on it this week placing 10th down at the Southern Showcase in 18:38.
The fourth nominee is Morgan Kobylinski of Ohio County. The Senior ran at the difficult Mustang Stampede course where she was victorious by a minute and half winning in 18:57. She is undefeated this season.
