Can anyone challenge St. Xavier and Trinity?
As we gear up for an exciting 2019 season I'll preview the top 5 teams in Class AAA so you can keep an eye on and how they handle their business week in and week out. Don't worry Class AA and A I'll get to you too.
Last year's Class AAA state meet saw Trinity lift the trophy victoriously while St. Xavier had to watch. The last time anyone beat St. Xavier or Trinity was the South Oldham team led by Tanner and Cole Dowdy who beat the Tigers of St. X by one heartbreaking point. Before that you have to go back to 2008 when Daviess County claimed the title. Bottom line is... it's very rare to see the team title go to anyone but the two Louisville area rivals. Whether you love them or hate them you have to respect their ability to rebuild, reload, and dominate year after year.
