Sentencing Complete in Trinity Gay Murder Trial


The four men that were found guilty of charges in the killing of Trinity Gay were sentenced on December 19 in a Lexington, KY courtroom.


Chazerae Taylor, 40, was sentenced to 22 years for wanton murder and wanton endangerment. This was the longest sentence of the four convictions. Taylor's son D'Markeo, 21, received 15 months for time served as well as 5 years probation. 


D'Vonta Middlebrooks, 23, was found guilty of wanton endangerment an was sentenced to 15 years. Lamonte Williams, 22, was sentenced to one year of time served as well as five years of probation for the same charge.


Gay's mother, Shoshana Boyd stated after the sentencing was complete, 

I'm the only one who has to go to the cemetery, and I want people to understand that. Me and Tyson have to go to the cemetery every single holiday, every birthday

Trinity was a sophomore at Lafayette High School, her father's alma mater, in Lexington. She was 4th in the 100m and 5th in the 200m at the Class AAA state meet in May of 2016 as a freshman.
