North Hardin's Laws Leads Lady Shot Put Returners

The girl's shot put might be the closest of all of the returning female events for the 2018 outdoor season. The North Hardin senior, Brianna Laws, comes in on top after she was the class AAA runner up in shot and state champion in discus in her junior season. She took fourth at the Wildcat Classic in her only indoor action so far in 2018. The Wildcat Classic champion, Brenna Hayes from Casey County, comes back with the second best mark from 2017 outdoor. She was also the class AA indoor state champion that was contested just yesterday! Relative newcomer to the shot put scene is Sajel Blue from Marion C. Moore. Last season was her first full season and she placed second in the class AA state meet and took second at the Wildcat Classic. If you are looking for some youth to throw into the mix, you don't have to look much further than our discus preview. Zoe Yeast of Mercer County as she was the class AA state champion last year but has not thrown indoor this season. Watch for Zoe to look to repeat her double championships again in 2018. Freshman Angel Lee of North Hardin will also help the Trojans with a solid 1-2 punch on class AAA as she and teammate Laws will look to improve on their 1-4 finish last year and give North Hardin some big field points come May.
