Aaron Johnson is poised for another banner season. He was a three time state champion last year (high jump and both hurdle events) and is not showing any signs of slowing down. As we mentioned in the 110 hurdles preview, he may be the best hurdler we have seen in Kentucky in recent history. Do not get me wrong, Isaiah McCall was INCREDIBLE and might have been a better 300 hurdler than 110 meter hurdler. Let's not forget that he was UNDEFEATED in the state of Kentucky in the 110 and 300 last season, so don't get it twisted just yet. I'm just suggesting that Aaron has the capability to move aside some of the marks that Isaiah put in place. But wait...there's more. Darian Clyburn of Male is not a scrub. His 39.30 last season was good for a third place finish at the class AAA state meet. He will have to fight off Devin Terry-Taylor of North Hardin for that class AAA title this year. In class A, Luke Lawson was the state champion in both hurdling events in 2017. He looks ready to reclaim both titles. Christion Horton of Ballard was in the conversation for 110 hurdles so we would be remiss to forget him here. He could make class AAA a three man race!
