Tyree Clarke of Henry Clay High School was up and down last outdoor season but was up when the time was right. He captured his first region title and state title in the 400 meter dash. His indoor season did not start well with a fall at the Wildcat Classic (watch the video below), only to follow it up with an 18th place finish at the UK High School invitational in 50.74. He need to watch for Desmond Benham from Doss who also won his first state title in the 400m last season in class AA and has had a decent indoor start. So far in 2018, Marion C. Moore's Josiah Taylor has impressed with his win at the Wildcat Classic in 51.15, only 0.38 seconds off of Clarke's top indoor time in the state. Eastern's do-it-all man, Bryce Favors, will also be a force to be reckoned with in the 400m. Stay tuned!
