Lacy Leads Top Returning 3200 Girls

Louisville Male's Kaitlyn Lacy had a great cross country season with a state championship and appearance at Nike Cross Nationals. She is poised to defend her class AAA 3200m state championship if she remains healthy. A injury sidelined her early in the cross season, but her bounce back was one to remember. She will be challenged by Alena Sapienza-Wright of duPont Manual, the class AAA state runner up in cross country, and Jenna Strange of Tates Creek who placed third. Watch for Sarah Michels of Assumption who has been strong on the track in the past and has not shown any reason to believe otherwise. Breanna Alderton of Owensboro will make some noise. She was the class AAA 1600m state champion but had a tough state cross country meet. Watch for her to make some noise if she goes at the 3200. So far this indoor season, she second in the mile at Wildcat Classic and 6th in the mile at the UK High School Invitational.

Sapienza-Wright takes the 2018 Wildcat Classic 2 mile title
