A couple of former KentuckyHigh School runners moved to North Carolina over the summer.Former Scott runner Blake Askin moved to BroughtonHigh School in Raleigh.FormerScottCounty runner Emily Wirzba moved to OrangeHigh School in Hillsborough.They both competed in the North Carolina State Cross Country Meet on Saturday.
Blake Askin finished seventh with a 16:08 in the Class 4A race.He was the second runner for his team which won the Class 4A State Team Title.Broughton is coached by former Daviess County State Champion David Christian.They are currently ranked 5th in the Top 10 of the NXN Southeast Rankings.
Emily Wirzba finished third with a 19:57 in the Class 2A race.She was the second runner for her team which finished as Runner-Up for the Class 2A Team Title.
