KY HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY PRESS RELEASE

The 5th Annual Rumble Through the Jungle Cross Country Invitational, hosted by North Oldham High and Middle Schools, will be held on Saturday, September 13 at the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve in Goshen, KY.  Boys and girls races will be contested in the high, middle and elementary school divisions.

With over 1,500 runners slated to compete, the "Rumble" features a wooded, trail oriented layout that is quickly becoming one of

Leading the way in the boys' division are Class 3A third-ranked,
St. Xavier.  3A fourth-ranked Butler and 3A seventh-ranked and defending 2007 Rumble Champion, duPont Manual, should push for the team title.  Also contending for team honors will be ninth-ranked Shelby County, and host, 2A top-ranked North Oldham.  The second and third-ranked teams in 2A, South Oldham and Christian Academy, 2A eighth-ranked Pendleton County, and fourth-ranked 1A Lexington Christian help round out a solid boy’s field.

On the girls’ side, the six top-ranked 3A teams will be in attendance.  Those teams are:  2007 3A State Champion, Assumption, Sacred Heart, Eastern, defending 2007 Rumble Champion, duPont Manual,
Oldham County, and Paul Dunbar.  From 2A five ranked teams will be attending including: third-ranked Mercy, fourth-ranked Presentation, fifth-ranked Lloyd Memorial, eight-ranked South Oldham, and ninth- ranked North Oldham.  Class 1A top-ranked and defending 1A State Champion, St. Henry, and third-ranked Green County will be in the field also.  Columbus-Darby of Ohio will be a strong contender as well.
