SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Julian Jackson, Jordan White and Renee Reives have earned SoCon Indoor Track and Field weekly honors, according to information released by the conference Wednesday.
Jackson was tabbed the Men's Track Athlete of the Week after finishing in the top-six in both the 200 and 400 meters this past weekend at the UCS Invitational. When converted, Jackson ran a seasonal best in both events, posting a 22.25 in the 200 and a 49.59 in the 400. He ranks in the top seven in the SoCon in both events.White earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors after finishing second in both the shot and the weight this past weekend. He ranks in the top five in the conference in both events. Reives, meanwhile, was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the shot put at the UCS Invite, with a seasonal best effort of 13.66 meters.
It is the first weekly honor of the season for all three athletes, and is the first career weekly honor for both Jackson and White. In addition, the three laurels give VMI seven weekly awards for the indoor season between both its men and women's program, tying Western Carolina for the most of any school.
