Question #1: Shall a Record Fall?

Caroline Gosser (Presentation) has clearly made herself the favorite in this one Saturday.  She ran a huge PR of 17:50 at Great American in early October.  She has bested her Class A opponents all season long including a victory at the Lexington Catholic Invitational over all of Class A & AA.  She will go for the win on Saturday along with chasing the state record of 18:25. 

Chasing her every step of the way early on will be Karly Gawarecki (Holy Cross.)  Gawarecki,  the defending state champion in the 1600m finished 37 seconds back of Gosser at the Lexington Catholic Invitational.  Look for Gawarecki to stay with Gosser early on, even pushing the pace potentially using her speed advantage.  Current State Champion Maddox Patterson (Sayre), Selena Mattingly (Williamsburg), and the St. Henry duo of Samantha Hentz and Renee Svec will be right there in the mix fighting over Top 5 positions.
