The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women’s Cross Country program continues to compete highly this season including knocking off some highly ranked opponents as well as numerous NCAA Division I opponents.  With some great top finishes this season, one Patriot lady has once again stood out among the rest in the Mid-South Conference as she earned another weekly honor.

UC senior Danielle Hoop (Owenton, Ky.) was named this week’s Mid-South Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.  Hoop captures her 6th career conference weekly honor and 3rd of the season.

Hoop finished 11th in the Blue Race at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, the top NAIA finisher in the 352 woman race.  Hoop’s time of 18:20 over the 5,000-meter E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park course is the third fastest time of her career.  She led UC to a 30th place finish in the 38-team event.

The Patriots will be back in action on October 17th as they will compete in the Wilmington Classic in Wilmington, Ohio.
