What was your most memorable meet or race?
I had a few memorable races this track season.
1) Eastern Relays will always be one on my most memorable races because it was my breakout race. I was finally able to put it all together. Not only did I run a 13 second PR but I finally beat all the girls I never imagined I would and won the race.  It was a total shocker at the time.
 2) State. I will never ever forget the two mile this year at the State meet. I never dreamt I would be a state champ and it was even more exciting because it was my last race as a Purple.
3) The Dream Mile was also one of my favorite meets. I was honored to be able to run it all four years. The atmosphere at the meet is awesome and only the top 16 girls get to run. It's always fun but stressful chasing the qualifying time. It's all worthwhile when you get the swag and cool shirt with your name on it.

Out of all your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?
Winning a state title was definitely one of my biggest accomplishments. I was extremely nervous the whole day especially since I had family in from Ireland and St Louis to watch. My dad and his twin brother were state champs many times so it was cool to be able to get one of my own.

If you could do it all over again, is there anything you would change?
I wish our club team (Bowling Green Lightning) started earlier so I could have gone to big meets at a younger age. The club team really opened up a lot of opportunities for me and I got to travel places like New York, California, and North Carolina many times. I even got to meet Sarah Baxter at Arcadia and Jenny Simpson in New York.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Having to sit out almost all of my last cross season because of a non running related stress fracture in my L3 pedicle was very tough. I was ecstatic when I found out I could run 5 days before regionals.
I definitely wouldn't have been able to do that without my amazing support team of family, friends, and doctors.

What will you miss the most?
I will miss the big trips around the country with BGL. We always had so much fun and made many memories.
I will also miss having my parents at all my races and all the help and advice they always gave me.
And I will miss all the friends I have made during the years through running especially Brittney Hansen and Madisyn Peeples.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Just enjoy and make the most of it. Four years goes by extremely fast and you never know what race could be your last race.
If you ever get a chance to go to a big race you should. Just remember it's not always about winning, never be afraid to get beaten. Success in running doesn't happen overnight, you have to be patient and avail of every opportunity.

What are your college/career plans?
I will be attending EKU in the fall and am running cross country and track. I plan to major in dental hygiene.

Who would you like to thank?
I want to thank my parents for all their time and money they put into my running. It was awesome having my mom coach me for track and to have my dad present at all my meets, except one, to video and cheer me on. It was awesome having my parents involved in all my running. I wouldn't have achieved what I have without them.

I would also like to thank Coach Haworth and the Assumption girls for raising the bar and leading the way to post season competition. Good luck in the future!

Also, thanks to all my family and friends that supported me throughout the years. Sydney Settle, Lovice Pollock, and Cara Nichols were always very supportive.

Lastly,  I want to thank EKU for giving me an opportunity to run in college. Go Colonels!
