1) How would you rate your first year at Western Kentucky?
I had a wonderful time. I wasn\'t supposed to run, I was supposed to red shirt. Being able to race made the experience even better!
2) Was it hard adjusting to the longer distances in the races?
It wasn\'t as hard as I thought it was going to be. I got a decent base in this summer and Coach Long gave me a ton of tips. All the help I received from him and the guys on the team helped tremendously. I had never ran negative splits in a race until the longer distances. The distance has definitely changed my race strategy.
3) What are your goals for indoor and outdoor?
I want to improve, push the other guys on the team and stay healthy. I would like to run 15:15 or so in the 5k and 32:30 or so in the 10K. It\'s hard for me to make goals this first year because it\'s so much different than what I am used to, so I really don\'t know what I am capable of.
4) How different was it to run at indoor meet in the middle of December compared to high school being in January?
It was very different. However, I enjoyed it. It keeps one in the mood to keep training, because there was a that test 3 weeks or so into our track training.
