#1 Woodford dominates at Marshall County

Marshall County Invitational

The Marshall County Invitational was held Saturday at Marshall County High School. This is a tough course with many rolling hills. The Invitational, in its 27th year is typically a collection of talent from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois. The same held true this year with both varsity winners coming from Tennessee. Former Greenwood runner Rachel Hanson (Rossview, 20:29) won the girls' race, and Joe Coneo (Northwest, 16:39) held on for a victory in the boys' race over another fellow Tennessee runner Zack Rainey (Rossview.)

Woodford County made the trip south to Draffenville, and it was well worth it. The #1 ranked boys rolled over the competition, putting five in the top ten for a team score of 27 points. Senior Chris Rice led the Yellow Jackets with a third place finish (16:57.46). The Woodford County girls finished second behind Harpeth Hall (TN) with 66 points. Sophomore Alexis Boyce led her team in second place with a 20:51. Harpeth Hall out of Nashville dominated with their top five coming in third through seventh place.
