Senior Send-Off: Alex Lott, Christian Academy

 

Alex Lott is a 2013 Christian Academy graduate.  He ran two years of XC and finished out his senior year with one season of track.  He answers questions below as part of the KYtrackXC.com Senior Send-Off.

1,600 Meter Run - 4:56.70

What was your most memorable race/event? 

AL: The Mason-Dixon games 4x8 where we came out with a victory.

 

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

AL:  I only ran for my senior season, but my biggest competition was my own teammate Michael Hawkins who helped push me harder every day at practice and at every meet because we ran the same times in almost every event.

 

What was your greatest accomplishment?

AL:  Winning the Mason-Dixon games 4x8 and the region 3AA 4x8

 

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

AL:  I would have ran all 4 years rather than just one.

 

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

AL: Adjusting and learning the sport while trying to be a leader and be competitive.

 

What will you miss the most?

AL: Everything. practices, meets, my coaches, my teammates, and the bracelet gang.

 

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

AL:  You will not regret working hard.

 

What influence has your coaches had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

AL:  It doesn't get better than Coach Stallings, he is an incredible running coach but also an incredible life coach

 

What are your plans for college or joining the workforce next year?

AL:  The University of Louisville

 

Who would you like to say thank you to?

AL:  My coaches and teammates, big thanks to Conner Cloyd, Clay Dennison, Aj Ross, Michael Hawkins and Eric Lesmeister for getting me into the sport and pushing me harder at practice every day.
