Team Announcements

We have had a great couple of weeks with the Tiger Run and the Mason Invite up in Ohio. The kids loved the creek crossing and the hay bales; I'm not so sure about mulch hill though! This weekend we are headed out the Creasy Mahan Preserve for the Rumble Through the Jungle. It should be a great race and we are finally getting toward being healthy and at full strength. Hope to see everyone out...

Manual had a great day at the Fern Creek Relays! Our #1 & #2 boys teams led the way with a 1st and 2nd place relay. We had two other teams in the top 25 with our #4 team finishing 12th and our #3 team finishing 25th. Well done guys! The girls were able to pack six teams between 7th and 19th place against a loaded field. Great job ladies! Most importantly, the attitude and effort was stellar...

Our first two meets are quickly approaching and we're excited to see how our hard work is paying off! The Fern Creek Relays will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27th. The boys will race at 6:00 and the girls will race at 7:00. There will be a bus out to Charlie Vettiner Park but runners will need to be picked up from the park after the race. The Tiger Run will be held Saturday Morning, Aug. 21st at...

This Wednesday, after practice, we are responsible for cleaning up Manual Stadium. If everyone brings a broom of some type, we should be able to get everything done by 11:00-11:30. That evening we have our spike night at the Blue Mile on Bardstown Road from 5:30-7:30. 20% off all spikes, trainers, and practice gear for one night only. Free pizza, drinks and prizes!

About Our Team

Welcome to duPont Manual Cross Country. Here at Manual, we continue a legacy that is defined by “the Manual Way."

The Manual Way begins with tradition. Manual high school is the preeminent institution for secondary education in the State of Kentucky. From academics, to the arts, to drama, to athletics, no other school can match the legacy of duPont Manual. When our runners don the manual singlet, they can take pride in knowing they represent a continuation of a 120 year history of achievement and excellence.

duPont Manual, however, got its name because it began as a “manual” school. The earliest graduates were from blue-collar families, willing to work hard for a piece of the American Dream. Our runners understand that hard work is a choice and that no one can reach their true potential without working tirelessly for it. We don’t take short cuts and we don’t make excuses. We just work harder than everyone else.

The final piece of the Manual Way is excellence. Excellence means surpassing ordinary standards of achievement. Each runner sets personal goals and each team sets team goals. Our runners believe they can exceed expectations and push themselves and each other, further than they ever thought possible.

The Manual Cross Country team is built upon a foundation of tradition and hard work in which excellence becomes the norm. This is the Manual Way.

As a coaching staff we promise to work hard every day to help your child reach their goals. We also vow to put health and safety first in everything we do. As much as we want to see our runners have success on the course, our primary objective is to help them become better people who value fitness, teamwork and fair play.

We are duPont Manual and this is The Manual Way!
