It's a big week for Manual Cross Country as we formally begin the competitive season. This Tuesday we will travel to Charlie Vettiner Park for the Swag's Fern Creek Relays. All runners need to come by bus or arrive at the park by 4:45. On Saturday we have the Tiger Meet at Champions Park. Give yourself plenty of time to park and be sure to arrive at least an hour before your particular race...

Our first 5k scrimmage will be held this Saturday, Aug. 16th, at Seneca Park vs. St. X. All runners need to arrive by 8:30 and everyone will run in the same race at 9:30. After the scrimmage we will have a team meeting and potluck. Please go to signup genius to volunteer for the event. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Be sure to bring appropriate clothing for our service project in Seneca Park Tuesday. We will be off trail clearing out non-native species so closed toe shoes and long pants are a must. We will have a short run beforehand and then we'll work until noon. It should be a good way to hang out and give back to the community.

Be sure to find a "baton" for the Barbie Doll Relay Scrimmage this Saturday at Seneca Park. Practice is at the normal time with the relay race starting at 9 am. Should be fun for all to watch!

About Our Team

Welcome to duPont Manual Cross Country. Here at Manual, we continue a legacy that is defined by “the Manual Way."

The Manual Way begins with tradition. Manual high school is the preeminent institution for secondary education in the State of Kentucky. From academics, to the arts, to drama, to athletics, no other school can match the legacy of duPont Manual. When our runners don the manual singlet, they can take pride in knowing they represent a continuation of a 120 year history of achievement and excellence.

duPont Manual, however, got its name because it began as a “manual” school. The earliest graduates were from blue-collar families, willing to work hard for a piece of the American Dream. Our runners understand that hard work is a choice and that no one can reach their true potential without working tirelessly for it. We don’t take short cuts and we don’t make excuses. We just work harder than everyone else.

The final piece of the Manual Way is excellence. Excellence means surpassing ordinary standards of achievement. Each runner sets personal goals and each team sets team goals. Our runners believe they can exceed expectations and push themselves and each other, further than they ever thought possible.

The Manual Cross Country team is built upon a foundation of tradition and hard work in which excellence becomes the norm. This is the Manual Way.

As a coaching staff we promise to work hard every day to help your child reach their goals. We also vow to put health and safety first in everything we do. As much as we want to see our runners have success on the course, our primary objective is to help them become better people who value fitness, teamwork and fair play.

We are duPont Manual and this is The Manual Way!
