LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The University of Kentucky Track and Field program welcomed fans, coaches and friends of the Athletic Department to the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art outdoor track and field facility on Friday.
There is a bit of a buzz around the University of Kentucky's track and field/cross country program. Those around the athletic department see the sport as ready to take off under newly appointed head coach Edrick Floreal, but it won't happen overnight. Floreal and his staff have brought along a system from Stanford that many of his athletes are new to.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Edrick Floreal’s summer continues to get busier. Less than a week after being named the first new Kentucky track and field head coach in 28 years, Floreal is in London as an assistant coach for USA in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a successful six-year stint as director of track and field at Stanford, Edrick Floreal has been named the head coach of the University of Kentucky men’s and women’s track and field teams, UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart announced Monday. By the end of the drive, the duo had collected 2,100 pairs of used shoes to donate to Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization in Nashville, Tenn. Year two was even better.

The men’s 4x400 meter relay time established Saturday is best in the world. Senior John Richardson’s under-four minute mile run ranks top-three in the nation and as a result the Southeastern Conference recognizes Richardson and freshman Brendan Ames this week for their awesome performances at last weekend’s Rod McCravy Memorial Track Meet.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior Andy Fryman came away with Kentucky\'s first Southeastern Conference outdoor title since 2002 as he won the shot put competition at Saturday\'s day two portion of the 2006 SEC Championships at John McDonnell Field.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Kentucky men\'s 4x400 relay closed out the 2006 NCAA Indoor Championships with a tenth place finish (3:09.16) Saturday evening at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
