It was a day for the record books at the Graves County Invitational as Graves County High School cross country debuted a new course, at a new time. In previous years Graves County High School Cross County hosted a twilight meet with runners racing under the stars.
“We went away with the twilight meet so that we could have more room to spread out,” said Graves County High School Cross Country Coach Ken Harrison. “Running in the day time allowed for the use of more ground and allowed for a better meet for spectators. With the changes, you can stand in one place and see 75% of the race.”
The changes did not deter teams from traveling to compete.
“I was glad with the turnout,” said Coach Harrison. “Being the last weekend before regionals, you never know what school will show up.”
