Brandon Nichols, senior at Henry Clay High School in Lexington has committed to the University of Kentucky. Nichols set the Kentucky State Record in the 400m Dash last year at the 2010 Kentucky State Track Meet with a time of 47.11. This was his second state 400m title in a row. He has won three Kentucky State Championships as part of relays. He went on to earn All-American Honors with his fourth place finish in the 400m Dash at New Balance Nationals last June.
Henry Clay Head Track Coach Demetrius Gay when asked about Nichols said, “"Brandon is a great talent and UK is will be a good fit for him. He really hasn't reached his potential, he's going to get better the stronger he gets. He maybe the best 400 runner the state of Kentucky has seen."
