1A Boys 110-meter hurdles

Stryker Reed's lean at the line was all that separated him and runner-up Zeke Kasel. The sophomore from Gordon missed out on the medal stand a year ago with a fourth place finish but with a time .75 seconds faster this time around, it was clear he left it out all on the track. He crossed with a time of 14.60.

It was even through the final hurdle between Reed and Kasel. After settling with a sixth place finish at last year's state meet, the senior out of Lazbuddie jumped out to a lead through the first few hurdles and kept pace to finish second with a time of 14.66.

Sawyer Francis was the runner-up a year ago but had to settle for third this season. It was a good effort from the Silverton senior to claim the final spot on the podium with a time of 15.12.

1A Boys 300-meter hurdles

As a freshman last season, Stryker Reed had to settle as the runner-up in the 1A Boys 300-meter hurdles.

Perhaps that gave that extra ounce of motivstion for the sophomore out of Gordon. He wasted no time claiming the lead through the first set of hurdles and had to overcome a a comeback effort from Zeke Kasel. His lead, that was roughly five meters, coming into the final straight away proved to be enough as he held on to win with a time of 38.60.

Kasel closed some ground on Reed and pulled away to finish second with a time of 39.35. The Lazbuddie senior was in fourth heading into the straightaway but kicked with enough for his second silver medal of the day.

Sawyer Francis shaved some time off his seventh place finish from last season to collect his second medal of the day. The Silverton senior nearly tumbled in the last few hurdles but stay upright to edge out Bryson Callaway from Knox City by .08 seconds for third.
