Wise and Mullarkey Named Indoor Athletes of the Year

Our indoor season has concluded and the results are in! Molly Wise (Boyle County) and Jimmy Mullarkey (Fern Creek) are your 2022 Indoor Athletes of the Year for KYtrackXC. These two student-athletes have had incredible culminating senior indoor seasons. With our first full-fledged indoor schedule, they have set the standard for indoor competition. Let's take a minute to appreciate the work they put in.

Molly is a senior at Boyle County and rewrote the record books this year. Her triple jump of 37' 6.5" ranked #1 in the state ALL-TIME for indoor for the state of Kentucky as well as #36 nationally this season for seniors. In the long jump, her 17' 10.5" leap was good for #7 ALL-TIME indoor for the state of Kentucky in addition to being #70 nationally for seniors.

She broke the Boyle County High School record in both events as well. She was the Class 2A KTCCCA Indoor State Champion in both the triple jump and long jump.

Jimmy's one-mile win at the Eastern Indoors propelled him to Kentucky #1

Jimmy Mullarkey is another stellar senior who competes for Fern Creek. His season had some top marks as the top one-mile runner for the state in 4:16.34 at the Eastern Indoors. He was also ranked #2 in the 3000m run as well as the 1500m run with a #3 mark in the 800m run. He topped off the season with a win at the New Balance Indoor Nationals Rising Stars 2 mile run with 9:14.05.

Congratulations to Molly and Jimmy! Your accomplishments this indoor season have us all excited for what is to come in the outdoor season.
