Richter and Stewart Named Performers of the Week

Last week we had 77,000 votes but this week we had just over 97,000! You all are insane! We know that Kentucky loves its track and field, but this is a whole new level.

Congratulations to Sophia Richter (duPont Manual) and Wyatt Stewart (Madison Central) for being named our Performer of the Week for February 7 through February 13. Neither of these athletes have been strangers to the winner's circle. Richter has won every single 400m race she has had this indoor season while Stewart has only not place first when he went out of state. Guess what? We get to see both athletes in action LIVE on Milesplit at the UK High School Invitational this weekend.

Richter's 400m win at Eastern Indoors

Richter continued her torrid pace on the season with her third consecutive week of a new 400m PR. To top that, she set the state indoor record for the 400m with her 55.96! This coming weekend she will be competing wiht 5 other runners that have run times faster than her previous PR (not that insanely fast 55.96). Let's keep an eye on that race at UK Nutter Field House.

The final Female Performer of the Week (2/7-2/13) vote was:

Wyatt went into the Eastern Indoors tops in the state and nation with a 17' 5.75" vault in December. Well, he showed us all that he is capable of more with his 17' 7" vault and a new national #1. Stewart is already rewriting the Kentucky record books and it does not appear he will stop anytime soon. The Madison Central junior will be over 18 feet before we know it.

The final vote tally for the Male Performer of the Week (2/7-2/13) poll was:
