As the official start of cross country practice looms near KYtrackXC.com will bring to light for those who do not know a couple major changes that have happened for this fall.The KHSAA has altered the qualification process for teams to make it to the Kentucky State Cross Country Championship in November and has also re-aligned the high schools from 18 previous regions (6 in each class) to 21 regions (7 in each class.)
New Qualification Guidelines
Cross Country – Each region would advance based on number of teams entered by entry deadline. 1-3 full teams entered – 2 teams advance; 4-6 full teams entered – 3 teams advance; 7-9 full teams entered – 4 teams advance; 10-12 full teams entered – 5 teams advance; 13 of more full teams entered – 6 teams advance. In addition, the top 5 individuals not on a team qualifying for the state meet would also qualify.
