Trimble County Backwoods 2026

Coaches, we invite you to bring your teams out to the 2026 edition of our Backwoods Invitational. This is a perfect season opener for those teams looking for a challenging, well run, true cross country course. We are offering a 2K, 3K and 5K race this year. Times may change if races are small or large.

When: Saturday August 29, 2026

Where: Trimble County Park, 3114 US Highway 421 N, Bedford KY 40006

Race Schedule:

Coaches- 7:15am

Varsity Boys- 8am

Varsity Girls- 8:45am

Boys MS- 9:30am

Girls MS- 10:00am

ALL ES- 10:30am

Medals will be handed out to the top 10 as they cross the finish line.

To register athletes, you must first "add a team" within each race, then you can add individual runners. 

Course: The course we have at the Trimble County Park is a true cross country course. We have flat grass sections, hills, a small creek crossing, and a long woods section offering heavy shade. Races start at the bottom of the football/soccer fields. The last 800m of each race will go around the football/soccer fields and go around and through tent city before the finish. Our course is spectator friendly allowing parents and coaches to see about 2/3 of the race.

Entry: All entries will be done on Ky-Milesplit online registration on the meet page.

Max of 10 runners per team per race-  (10$ per athlete for runners 11+ in HS and 15+ in Middle School)). Runners may only compete in 1 race. Fees (each gender is a separate team):

Buzzinga coffee will be on site and a few other snack items will be available at the concession stand by tent city. Fine Designs will be on site selling apparel. This is also where you can bring checks, get a picture of the course map, and borrow a sharpie for writing numbers on athletes hands.

Parking: We will have people directing cars into parking spots. The park has 3 gates, Gate 2 will be entry only. Gate 3 is exit only, gate 1 is closed since the course crosses there. PARKING/ADMISSION IS PER CAR. You can either pay $5 at the gate or buy an online ticket. (Link will be provided closer to meet day.)
