GOSHEN, Ky. (August 29, 2026) - Prepare for a truly unique cross country experience at the second annual Hermitage Meet Cross Country Classic, set to take place on Saturday, August 29, 2025, amidst the historic and scenic grounds of Hermitage Farms in Goshen, Kentucky.
Our inaugural event was amazing. We had 37 Elementary and Middle School teams and 1400 hundred runners.
Based on that success, we are excited to announce that in our second year, will we be opening up races for high school JV and high school varsity!
Hosted by Hermitage Farm and the Locust Grove Elementary XC Team, this event promises a incredible and memorable day of racing for athletes of all ages, from kindergarten through high school, on courses that wind through a property steeped in Kentucky history.
A Rich Legacy: Hermitage Farms boasts a storied past, dating back to the early 1800s as a significant land grant. For nearly two centuries, it has been a working farm, gaining international renown as a premier Thoroughbred operation. The farm has been home to Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks winners, Breeders' Cup champions, and influential sires, playing a pivotal role in Kentucky's signature equine industry. Visionary owners, from Captain John Henshaw and Warner L. Jones Jr., who significantly shaped its Thoroughbred legacy, to its current stewards, Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown, have all contributed to the farm's rich heritage. The iconic historic main house, dating back to 1835, stands as a testament to its enduring legacy. Running at Hermitage Farms offers a chance to compete on grounds that have witnessed greatness for generations.
