2026 Hermitage Farm XC Classic (By Locust Grove)

Prepare for a truly unique cross country experience! Hosted by Hermitage Farm and the Locust Grove Elementary XC Team. this second annual event will take place on the historic grounds of a premier Thoroughbred operation. Thanks to your incredible support, we have grown from 1,400 runners last year to 2,200 runners this year-a 57% -increase! We are thrilled to welcome athletes from kindergarten through High School Varsity to the mix.
A Rich Legacy & Premier Cross Country Venue
Hermitage Farms boasts a storied past dating back to the early 1800s as a significant land grant. For nearly two centuries, it has been a working farm, gaining international renown as a premier Thoroughbred operation. The farm has been home to Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks winners, Breeders' Cup champions, and influential sires, playing a pivotal role in Kentucky's signature equine industry.

Today, this incredible property is also establishing itself as a unique and challenging cross country venue. The course winds through pastures and scenic grounds steeped in Kentucky history, offering a challenging and highly competitive racing experience. Running at Hermitage Farms provides athletes with a rare opportunity to compete at a venue where a centuries-lo ng tradition of athletic greatness continues. We cannot wait to see the athletes make the final turn and race to the finish!!!

Race Day Logistics & Operations
Arrival & Entry Directions ... All traffic must ENTER AT GATE 2.
Eastbound (from Louisville): The entrance is the first entry after Buckeye Lane.
Westbound: Pass the main Hermitage entrance and turn left at the next entry point.
Traffic will EXIT from the Main Gate
Admission
- Tickets
Purchase E-Tickets Here . NO CASH will be accepted. Cell signal is very spotty at the farm. Please purchase tickets in advance to ensure no delays at entry. - Pricing: Adults $7 | Students (6-18) $5 | Children 5 & Under Free.
- Entry Process: At the entry table, spectators will show their electronic ticket(s) sent to their email. Participating runners do not require a ticket.
Parking & Drop-Off Zone
- General Parking: Carpooling is highly recommended. Please be patient with our volunteers as they direct you to the closest available spots.
- Drop-Off Zone: Located at the far west side of the parking lot (closest to the entry table and Tent City). Use this zone for dropping off athletes, guests, and tent supplies. Please do not park or leave vehicles unattended in this zone.
Tent City Setup
- Friday Drop-Off: Tents can be dropped off via the Buckeye Lane entrance (turn onto Buckeye Lane and go through the fence on the left).
- Saturday Drop-Off: The Buckeye gate will be closed. Drop tents at the designated Drop-Off Zone mentioned above and walk them over.
- Strict Rule: Absolutely NO CARS are allowed in Tent City or driving on the fields at any time.
Coaches Registration, Check-In, & Fees
- Payment: $5 per runner (Team Max $450). Checks must be brought to the meet to receive your team packet. Please do not mail checks. Checks Payable to 'Hermitage Retail'
- Coaches Wristbands: Included in the packet. Teams with 0-60 runners receive 4 wristbands; teams with 60+ runners receive 6 wristbands.
- If any of your runners require a support runner due to a medical issue, please text or email Brian Patterson in advance.

Hermitage Farm is a historic, working Thoroughbred farm. For everyone's safety:
- NO PETS ALLOWED on the property.
- DO NOT approach the horses or the paddocks.
