The Apollo Track & Field family would like to cordially invite all middle schools to our 3rd annual Middle School Invitational. Our goal is to put on one of the best Middle School Invitationals in the State.  Our beautiful state-of-the-art blue 8-laned rubberized track will allow all athletes the opportunity to run blazing fast times, and hopefully hit that State Championship qualifying standard.

Meet Time and Date:  Saturday, April 15th, 2023.  The Field Events and the girls 4x800 will begin at 10:00 am.  The remainder of the running events will immediately follow.  The track will open for warmups and implement weigh-in for the throwing events will begin at 8:30.  The coaches' meeting will start at 9:00 by the finish line area, and Field Events will be open to warmups starting at 9:30.

Entries:  Each team will be permitted to enter 3 athletes in the field events & sprints and 4 athletes per distance event.  In an effort to get more kids involved, we will be allowing each school to enter two relay teams per event.  If you have a large team and would like to enter more athletes than what is stated above you may enter a B Team for an extra fee. 

Entry Fees: The entry fee will be $60 for a boys' team and $60 for a girls' team.  A full team will be considered any team that enters more than 5 athletes.  Teams entering less than 5 athletes may pay $10 per athlete.  There will be a charge of $40/gender to enter a B Team.  All Entry Fees should be brought with you on the day of the competition.  Make checks payable to Apollo High School.  NOTE:  If you just have an extra 1 or 2 kids in a certain event you'd like to enter contact Coach Shoulta.

Entries DUE:  All entries must be done using Milesplit and are due by Tuesday, April 11th by noon.  

General Meet Information:  We will follow the standard order of high school events (order is at the bottom), this is also the order that will be used at Middle School State.  We will be contesting the 300 Hurdles, Pole Vault, Triple Jump, and potentially Turbo Jav.  Athletes can compete in a max of four total events.

Awards: Medals will be awarded to 1st-3rd place in each event, and 4th-6th place will be awarded ribbons.  The 1st and 2nd place teams will receive team trophies.

Scoring & Timing:  Scoring for the meet will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for both individual events and relays.  We will be timing the competition using FinishLynx Fully Automated Timing.

Spectator Information:  Admission will be $5 for students and adults. Concessions will be available.

Turbo Jav will begin at noon and we will allow roughly a one-hour window for athletes to get their throws in.
