Pioneer Trail Run 2021

Welcome back! The Pioneer running community will again host the Pioneer

Trail Run Relays after a year off due to Covid. We are looking to host about 10

teams and hope you can be one of them.

DATE: Saturday, August 21

LOCATION: The course is at Twenhofel Middle School, 11846 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051.

The course has numerous hills with a nice trail in the woods and is reasonably spectatorfriendly.

RACE FORMAT:

Varsity Races: There will be three Varsity races in which boys

and girls will run together. Your varsity boys and girls runners 5, 6, 7 will

run in the first race, followed by varsity runners 3, 4 and concluding with

your varsity runners 1, 2. We ask that you not run your 1, 2 runners in the 5,

6, 7 or 3, 4 races. The objective is to give young and inexperienced runners a

chance to win an award early in the season.

JV Races: Anyone can run in the JV race, seniors included,

with no number limitation.

Middle School Races: No number limitation.

We will be

having an Open Race for all ages, excluding high school athletes. The cost will

be $15 and all runners will receive a T-shirt.Awards to be determined.

10:00 Boys and Girls #5,6,7 runners 5000 Meters

10:30 Boys and Girls #3,4 runners 5000 Meters

11:00 Boys and Girls #1,2 runners 5000 Meters

11:45 Girls JV Race 5000 Meters

12:15 Boys JV Race 5000 Meters

12:45 Middle School Girls 3000 Meters

1:15 Middle School Boys 3000 Meters

ENTRY FEES: Open Race:

$15 - each participant will receive a T-shirt + medals first 3 male/female

finishers

Varsity

Races Boys & Girls are considered separate races - $100 each team JV

Races - $60 each team

Middle

School - $40 each team Checks should be made out to SIMON KENTON HS and

can be mailed to 11132 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051, ATTN: Jamie

Lawson. You may also bring your check the day of the meet.

Your entry should be submitted by milesplit. 

Wednesday, August 18, by 10 p.m. so that Tim can get the names in for scoring

purposes. AWARDS:

All individual awards will be given out in the chute.

  MISC: There will be as admission fee

of $2.00 for students; $3.00 for adults.
