43rd Annual Lake Cumberland Classic

SOMERSET HIGH SCHOOL is proud to host the 43rd annual LAKE CUMBERLAND CLASSIC on Saturday, April 27th. Last year's meet was a huge success with over 15 schools represented.
SOMERSET has an EIGHT LANE rubberized track, resurfaced in 2007, with excellent field facilities, plenty of tent space and ample parking for buses and fans. Competition will include the Pole Vault, but not the turbo jav. We have separate triple and long jump pits. Somerset's track is located at Meece Middle just off Hwy 80 at Barnett Street and can be seen from the road. Same area as the football field.
The entry fee is $80.00 per team ($150.00 for both girls and boys). Check should be made to: SOMERSET TRACK BOOSTERS. Mail to:

Starting time is 10:00 A.M. for field events and 10:30
A.M. for the running events. A coaches meeting will begin at 9:45 A.M. and each school should have a representative present.
The entry deadline is April 24th
A typical order of events will follow a rolling schedule. We have three (3) special freshmen events for boys and girls. The Freshman 800 Meter Relay is before the Girls 800 Meter Relay. The Freshman 1600 Meter Run is before the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles. The Freshman
1600 Meter Relay is before the Girls 1600 Meter Relay. Field events will get 4 attempts. The Pole Vault and High Jump starting heights will be determined based on entries.
Scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. Medals will be given to the top three finishers and ribbons will be given to fourth through eight
finishers in each event. We will present trophies to the winner, runner-up, and third place teams.
Concessions with the works will be open throughout the meet. Restrooms are on the site. Locker rooms are not available.
There will be a $5.00 gate fee for non-participants.
