Below is the Top 12 Moments/Races of 2012. This past year was quite arguably the greatest year in XC/Track history for the state. Records were set across the board in track and XC. KYtrackXC.com has sorted through some of the moments/races that really set the state on fire in a sense in 2012.
#1 Assumption and St. Xavier Win Nike Cross Southeast
Class AAA Kentucky State Champs St. Xavier and Assumption both continued their regular season with victories at Nike Cross Southeast in North Carolina. On November 24th the greatest boys and girls squads in Kentucky history each not only won the Championship over every team in the entire Southeast of the United States, but also won the Junior Varsity races at Nike Cross Southeast as well.
It was the second time both schools have qualified for Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon, but the first time that they won they regionals. Assumption won the Palatine Invitational in Illinois and Great American Cross Country Festival in North Carolina. St. Xavier won the Trinity Invitational in Louisville, Palatine Invitational in Illinois, and was Runner-Up at Great American.
